About Us
The Valparaiso Community Library has over 41,000 items in our collection which includes an assortment of books, ebooks, audiobooks, digital audiobooks, music CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, and more. We also offer 18 public computers for internet access, emailing, gaming, social networking, and more. The Internet Use Policy is applicable to library computers and the wireless network. Each computer is installed with Microsoft Office™ software which includes Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for your office needs. In addition, our library offers free Wi-Fi during normal business hours for most wireless devices.
Library cards are available to patrons of all ages. Please see our policies regarding how to get a library card. Individuals must use their own library card or guest computer pass to access library computers. We also provide a card catalog computer to search for material in our library in addition to 5 other Okaloosa County public libraries.
Local Courier Service
Need a book that our library does not own?
If the Valparaiso Community Library does not have an item you need, we can search for the item’s availability from another Okaloosa County Public Library and request it for you. Requested items generally take one week to arrive. Once the item arrives, we will call to inform you of the requested items arrival. Patrons have
5 days to pickup requested items or the items are returned to the owning library. We also offer Interlibrary loans to request material from other libraries located outside of the county and state. You can fill-out a request form online or visit the library cataloger.
