Genealogy University

Associate History Professor David Weatherford discusses genealogy, American Southern history, and family history. Topics will include American and World history, U.S. immigration/migration patterns, and research techniques. Class meets at 9:30 a.m. every Wednesday.

Movie Events

ticket

Each month our library will feature newly released, entertaining movies. Movies are shown on a wide projector screen along with a surround-sound system. Admission is free and open to the public. Check the Calendar of Events for information regarding the featured movie, dates, and times.

French Club

The French language club meets twice-a-week
for basic writing and vocabulary lessons taught by French language instructor Gratien Miceli. Club meetings occur each week on Tuesday and Friday. French club will not meet during the month of September.

Spanish Class

Learn Spanish from Carmen Cameron, a former Spanish language educator at NWF State College. Lessons include basic vocabulary and writing. Classes will resume Sept. 15th at 1:00 pm. Class size is limited to 20 students (ages 18 and up).  See calendar for dates and times.

Knitting Club

The Valparaiso Knitting Club volunteers for knitting projects while learning new skills from group projects. The group accepts worsted weight and baby yarn donations for charity projects such as prayer shawls, cancer caps, and baby booties. Club meets each Wednesday from 12:00 - 2:30.

Children's Programs

Join us for our Story Time hour three days a week. We also offer Lap Sit story time for babies and toddlers, ages 0-2, and more are welcome to come play and grow together, fostering a love for stories and reading. Programs range from simple sticker activities to seasonally-themed crafts.
